Tipsy Cows began as a dream - a vision to create something truly special in the heart of Great Harwood. What started as an idea has blossomed into an award-winning cheese and wine bar that has captured the hearts of locals and visitors alike.
Our philosophy is simple: Nothing is impossible. This belief drives everything we do, from sourcing the finest artisan cheeses to creating an atmosphere where every guest feels welcomed and valued.

Historic Venue
Dating Back to 1806
Our beautiful historic building has stood proudly in Great Harwood since 1806, witnessing over two centuries of local history. The character and quirks of this remarkable structure add a unique charm to the Tipsy Cows experience.
We're currently expanding to accommodate the overwhelming demand, ensuring more guests can enjoy what we have to offer while preserving the historic character that makes our venue so special.
Meet the Owner
Mickii Edwards
Our owner brings an extraordinary background to Tipsy Cows. A former professional rugby player who represented Wales in the World Cup, they've also achieved remarkable feats as an extreme athlete:
- Swimming the English Channel
- Completing 100-mile ultra runs
- Conquering 125-mile challenges
- Finishing the legendary Marathon des Sables
As a motivational speaker and with military experience, they bring the same dedication, passion, and "nothing is impossible" philosophy to Tipsy Cows. This mindset of exceeding expectations defines everything we do.
Community Recognition
Oldham YEDS Presentation
The Dockhouse Boys were asked to attend the YEDS supporters group trip to visit former Oldham RLFC player Mickii Edwards, at his Wine and Gin Bar Tipsy Cows in Great Harwood.
The former scrum half turned prop was presented with his original playing jersey, his heritage number and some other treats from the Oldham fans. The night saw interviews with Mickii and some other former players, a presentation and then some partying into the late hours.
This special event showcased the strong community bonds and recognition of Mickii's contributions both on and off the field, bringing together sports fans and community supporters in celebration.

Accommodating Demand
The response to Tipsy Cows has been overwhelming. We're often fully booked 2-3 weeks in advance, especially on Saturday evenings. To meet this incredible demand while maintaining our high standards, we're currently undertaking expansion plans.
